Received my new Rowenta 1700 and checked the soleplate with an IR thermometer and it only read 141° on linen. Should have been 425°.

Sent it back the same day and waited 1 month for replacement. They said the one I sent back to them worked fine and sent it back to me. I did not know this at the time and again checked the temp and asked to return it. When they got it back they said it worked ok except for faulty auto off feature so would replace the iron.

It is actually a different iron this time but still only gets up to 142° so I wanted a refund for it. They said absolutely no and they would not take it back again because it works just fine. What to do, I am in tears.

I don't know where to go from here. I have only had the iron for 5 months but they will not even honor the warranty.
