Verified ReviewerDEFECTIVE IRON
PURCHASE bought a defective iron made by Rowenta from Target in December 2021.
When I used the iron for the first time in June 2022 it leaked water and did not heat up to press clothes.
When I called Rowenta to report this issue, I was told verbally that if the iron is repaired and it doesn't work a second time then I would get my money back. THIS CALL WAS RECORDED AND I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE.
So, I shipped the iron back to Rowenta USA in June 2022 and after it was repaired Rowenta shipped the iron back to me.
Since I used the "new" the iron Rowenta shipped back to me, it still does not heat up or get hot at all to press clothes. When the iron is plugged in and turn on to the highest heat setting the metal plate stays cold and I can touch it with my finger. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE I HAD WITH THE FIRST DEFECTIVE IRON I BOUGHT ORIGINALLY.
This is the second time that I have used this iron and it does not heat up properly. Rowenta USA warranty is not valid or applicable because the iron was defective when I bought it for the first time at Target in December 2021.
Also, when the "repaired new" iron was mailed back to me it STILL DOESN'T WORK.
All I did was plug the iron in and turn it on but it NEVER GETS HOT.
Rowenta deliberately mailed me back a second DEFECTIVE iron they knew would not work. THIS COMPANY IS LIABLE AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR AN IRON I CAN NEVER USE.
- Defective products
- Corporate greed
- Negligence
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerWorst purchase ever made
I bought the most expensive model available in my country following very positive comments from people i know.
My iron only worked for a period of one month and then it started leaking water. I took it to store i purchased it from to claim the warranty and they told me that they didn´t have that service and that i should take it to the service center whcih i did.
After waiting for a month they wrote me to say that it was ready...
i picked it up and to my surprise in only lasted working for an hour and the same issue happened again...
the following day took it back to the service center and i called rowenta offices to claim the bad service from the center , they told me that they would handle everything for me and not to worry... i asked if it was possible to have a new iron since i had a valid warranty but they said that they had see every option possible to repair it and if it wasn´t , then they would replace it.
from that moment until now, i´ve been waiting and waiting for a month and a half and still i have no answer from them neither to pick mine because its fixed or to get a new iron.
IT HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE TO GET INVOLVED WITH A VERY BAD COMPANY THAT DOESN´T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS SPENDING MONEY FOR THEIR PRODUCTS!!!
- Iron itself
- Awful customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Stop purchasing Rowena products. Try to maintain what you have, but don’t buy anymore.
Faulty iron
I have purchased Rowenta irons for years. I purchased one Sept.3 2018 and then again July 17,2022.
My latest iron is defective and I was
going to replace it until I saw on my Amazon account it wasn't that old.
I definitely think an $84.79 iron should last a lot longer. I feel ripped off!
I spoke with a Rowenta representative who told me they were having problems with my model iron, DW5280. She told me they were hit or miss!!
She gave me the model DW9440 as one to try. Said it was made in France.
I'd be happy to purchase that iron if Rowenta would give me a credit for the iron that was in the miss pile of the hit or miss irons!
Waiting to hear from you. I can provide an invoice from Amazon.

Verified ReviewerWater leaking/pouring out of iron almost since Day 1
After hearing rave reviews about Rowenta steam irons for years from seamstresses and quilters, I finally decided to break down and purchase one. I iron all my husband's dress shirts and many of my work clothes, so I need a good iron.
Almost from Day 1 water leaked/poured out the bottom of the iron whether on, off, heating up, upright, sole plate down. I kept thinking there was something I was doing wrong, re-reading the instructions. Am I using the right type of water? Am I turning off and on correctly?
Am I plugging in, turning on and off, turning the dial in the correct order? It's me, I know it is. I questioned myself, kept reading threads written by people with the same issue, kept examining the manual ... for over two years before I decided to give up.
Well over two years and still a beautiful sole plate and very hot steam later, I am giving up, and am now well past the one-year warranty because I so badly wanted to give Rowenta the benefit of the doubt.
Unless they stand behind their expensive product, which more than likely has a faulty seal, and had one from the beginning, I will never lay down money for another one of their products. I'll just go with a cheap Sunbeam and replace it once a year.
- Very pointed tip
- Very hot high steam
- Sole plate still gorgeous and clean
- Leakage
- Steam adjustment pushed all the way in on first use
Preferred solution: Replacement or refund
User's recommendation: I don't know. You can't tell if the seal is good or not. It's too much to pay to take the gamble.
Companies that still do business in Russia
Since Russia has invaded Ukraine, PissedConsumer.com cant stay aside. With this review, we present our teams opinion only - nothing more than that.
We as an organization always defend the freedom of speech by providing a platform for consumers to voice their opinions and to talk about any problems they may have with various businesses.
Today, we want to give voice to the tragedy of the people of Ukraine and let the world know the truth.
A lot of major companies suspended their business in russia not to support the war.
However, there are still large international corporations that continue operating and paying taxes in russia.
Taxes that are used to finance the army of the aggressor. With this video, we want to show the consequences of such a decision for civilians in Ukraine and ask these companies to stop doing business in russia.
Customer service gentleman named Rick was very condescending and self-righteous and his delivery of information to me. Shocked and disappointed as I am a fan on customer I ever went there for 30 years
I called about Rowenta turbo boost fan model vu 2631, the band that holds the two fan grills together disintegrated while putting it back together After cleaning. I've had fans f o r years and purchased Rowenta products for 30 years.
Quality was always a Rowenta trademark. I have a Rowenta steam iron for 20 years. When I explained what happened customer service rep Rick was very condescending and self-righteous in his delivery of information to me. Shocked and disappointed I I don't think I'll buy another fan from Rowenta again and I'll be very careful about other purchases.
Rick said to , you can listen to the phone call, this is the first I've ever heard about this happening. Sorry but I can't be the only one that had this happen. When I asked if the part can be replaced he condescendingly said yes you have to buy the front grid with the attachment band which isn't sold alone. I'm so disappointed I love Rowenta.
PS I'm a customer service person with a lot of training and Rick needs to be retrained in what he does. Thank you, I know it's out of warranty but Rick was not respectful.
